Robert Pyon, Drummer
'Robert grew up in Dallas listening to Junior Walker, Otis Rush, Freddy King, Luther Allison, and the Temptations, among other R&B artists. While studying music at the Univ of North Texas and playing for 2 years with the renowned "1 O'clock Lab Band", he worked in Dallas playing gigs and as a studio musician recording radio jingles. He has backed up such artists as Jimmy Reed, Spider John Koerner, Arlo Guthrie, Mississippi John Hurt, Fred McDowell, and David Bromberg. He met Ed after moving to Conifer, Co and was a charter member of the Red Hot Blues Catz. After a few years, the band reorganized and Robert played with several other bands in the area before rejoining Ed and the band in 2012. He considers his major influences to be Maceo Parker, George Clinton, Delbert McClinton, C.J Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, the Meters, and R&B and Zydeco music in general. '
